Under the Apple Tree

Under the Apple Tree

Melissa Blue Fine Art

One of my favorite things in spring is when the crabapples burst into bloom. I wish it could last forever! When my neighbor’s tree is done it showers my car with pink petals, like a benediction.

We have crabapples lining our street and I always love the blooms when they open. Such a beautiful, bright and uplifting scene, Melissa! 🙂

I love the light in this one. It makes me feel hopeful.

It’s a lovely painting, Melissa. When I was a kid, we had crabapple trees. On a good year, they’d release their petals all at once, and we always called it a petal-blizzard.

Beyond that, I’m old enough to remember this song when it still was playing live on the radio.

    • Thank you, Linda. I appreciate that. I’m a classic film and music buff, and this was exactly what was running through my head when I chose the title. Thank you for the link ~ I thoroughly enjoyed hearing it again!

Beautiful. I love the crab apple blossom but I love the crab apples even more.

  5. We had a crabapple tree behind the house I grew up in. I remember its fruit but don’t think any of us ever sampled it.

  6. I suppose they are a bit of a cliche around here but I don’t care. I love them but not for their fruit. We have a lot of edible apple trees, too, and those I eat.

I feel fresh. Cheerful. And romantic! 🙂

  8. I love the vivid colours in this painting. It gives it a surreal note, a lovely bench guarding a special spot in an Earthly garden of Eden. So inviting ❤
